Maisie Simpson-Pickup

Maisie is an 18 year old performer from Cardiff who has had a love for performing for as long as she can remember. She started training at just four years old with her local drama school, Ascendance Theatre Arts, where she was first introduced to being on stage. From that point on, performing became something she genuinely enjoyed and felt comfortable doing, and over time it has grown into something she is really passionate about. Being involved from such a young age has helped her build confidence and develop her skills naturally as she has grown up.

She especially enjoys getting into character and thinking about how a character would feel and react in different situations. Maisie likes making her performances feel real and believable, rather than just learning lines or songs, and she enjoys the challenge of bringing a role to life in her own way. For her, performing is about more than just being on stage, it’s about telling a story and making the audience feel something, whether that’s happiness, excitement or emotion.

Over the years, Maisie has become more confident in herself as a performer and has developed a strong work ethic. She is committed during rehearsals, always willing to learn, and pushes herself to keep improving. Starting so young has given her a lot of experience and has helped her grow into a more well-rounded performer who is comfortable trying different roles and styles. All of these experiences have strengthened her ambition to continue working in the performing arts and build a future career in the industry.
